Bengaluru · survey before cable
Office Network Setup & Networking Services in Bangalore
Cabling, switching and Wi-Fi that still make sense in three years — surveyed, labelled, tested and handed over documented. One person accountable from the survey to the port map, for offices across Bengaluru.
- Design before drilling — you see the port map first
- Certified test per link, in the handover pack
- Segmented by default — cameras and guests off the staff network
- Hardware at transparent cost — model and price before ordering
- Documented handover — port map, VLANs, labels, credentials
The short answer
An office network in Bangalore costs roughly ₹60,000–₹1,80,000 for up to ten seats, and ₹3,75,000–₹9,00,000 for a 25–50 seat floor — cabling, rack, switching, firewall and Wi-Fi together. Cabling alone is about ₹60,000–₹1,20,000 for 60 points.
Do it before anyone moves in. Cabling an empty floor takes three to five days; cabling around installed furniture and working staff can cost twice the labour for exactly the same result.
What gets installed
Six parts of a working office network
The order matters as much as the parts. Cable goes in before furniture, the firewall is configured before the office is live, and the documentation is written as the work happens rather than reconstructed afterwards.
Structured cabling
Cat6 or Cat6A from rack to desk, dressed, labelled and certified per link. The test report is part of the handover, not an extra line on the invoice.
Per point
Business Wi-Fi
A survey first, then access points placed for coverage rather than symmetry. Roughly one AP per 1,200–1,500 sq ft, more where seating is dense.
₹40,000 – ₹1,50,000
Switching and PoE
Managed switches with PoE where phones, cameras or access points need it — which is almost everywhere once you look properly.
₹60,000 – ₹2,50,000
Firewall and VPN
A real firewall with segmentation and remote access configured, not the router the ISP left behind.
₹1,50,000 – ₹2,50,000
Server room and rack
Rack, patch panels, cable management, UPS and ventilation — sized to hold the network up, not the desktops.
₹25,000 – ₹1,00,000
Network AMC
Monitoring, changes, moves and a defined response window. The documentation stays current instead of rotting.
From ₹5,000 / month
Topology
How an office network actually fits together
The layer worth paying attention to is the middle one. Most offices buy the ends — an internet line and some access points — and leave the part that decides whether the network is reliable, segmented and diagnosable entirely unplanned.
Who to buy it from
A local cabler, an IT company, or me
A cabler is genuinely cheaper and genuinely faster, and for a small office that nobody depends on that can be the right answer. The row that decides it for most businesses is documentation — because an undocumented network is cheap exactly once.
| A local cabler | An IT company | Working with me | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What you get | Cable pulled, quickly and cheaply | A full project team and a project manager | The person who designed it also installs and supports it |
| Design before cable | Rarely — points go where it is easy to drill | Yes | Yes, and you see the port map before anything is pulled |
| Certified testing | Usually not | Usually, if specified | Always, per link, in the handover pack |
| Documentation | None | Varies; often an extra | Included — port map, IP and VLAN schema, labels, passwords |
| Segmentation | One flat network | If you ask for it | By default: cameras, guests and staff do not share a network |
| Cost | Lowest up front | Highest | Between the two, with no sales layer to fund |
| Who you ring when it breaks | Whoever answers | A ticket queue | Me |
| Where it is the wrong choice | Anything you depend on | A ten-seat office — it is more process than you need | A 300-seat campus needing several crews in parallel |
What it costs
Network cost by office size
| Item | Indicative range | What drives it |
|---|---|---|
| Structured cabling | ₹60,000 – ₹1,20,000 per ~60 points | One point per seat plus printers, access points and cameras. Route length and conduit access swing it more than the cable |
| Rack, patch panels, management | ₹25,000 – ₹60,000 | Wall-mount for a small floor, floor-standing above roughly 48 ports |
| Access switches (PoE) | ₹60,000 – ₹2,50,000 | PoE is not optional once you have IP phones, access points or cameras |
| Firewall / UTM | ₹1,50,000 – ₹2,50,000 | Hardware, plus ₹60,000 – ₹90,000 a year in subscriptions that quotes often omit |
| Business Wi-Fi | ₹40,000 – ₹1,50,000 | One AP per 1,200–1,500 sq ft; density matters more than floor area alone |
| Rack UPS | ₹25,000 – ₹1,00,000 | Sized to hold the network up through a cut, not to run the desktops |
| Design, PM, testing | 8 – 15% of the build | Where an undocumented network becomes a documented one. The first thing cut to win on price |
| Network AMC | From ₹5,000 / month | Monitoring, changes and a defined response window from year one |

New office
The fit-out timeline, working backwards from move-in
The leased line is the long pole. Order it late and nothing else matters — the floor will be cabled, tested and ready, and the office will open on a mobile hotspot.
| When | What has to happen |
|---|---|
| Before the lease is signed | Check the riser, the ISP options in the building and where a rack can physically live. Two of those are expensive to discover afterwards. |
| 4–6 weeks out | Order the leased line. It is the single longest lead time in the whole project and nothing else is blocked by anything like it. |
| 3 weeks out | Survey and cabling design, agreed as a port map against the seating plan. |
| 2 weeks out | Cabling, dressing, termination and certified testing while the floor is still empty — far cheaper than after the furniture arrives. |
| 1 week out | Rack build, switching, firewall, Wi-Fi placement, VLANs and the backup path configured and tested. |
| Move-in week | Desk patching, printers, phones, a floor walk, and the documentation pack handed over. |

Tech stack
What it gets built with.
Ubiquiti UniFi where a clean controller and good Wi-Fi roaming matter, MikroTik where routing is the hard part, and TP-Link Omada or NETGEAR where budget decides it. Firewalls from pfSense up to Fortinet depending on what has to be inspected and who maintains it. The brand follows the building and the budget — not a reseller agreement, because I hold none.
FAQ
Office networking in Bangalore — questions I get asked
What does office network setup cost in Bangalore?
Roughly ₹60,000–₹1,80,000 for a small office of up to ten seats, and ₹3,75,000–₹9,00,000 for a 25–50 seat floor including cabling, rack, switching, firewall and Wi-Fi. Cabling alone runs about ₹60,000–₹1,20,000 for 60 points. The full item-by-item breakdown is in what an office network costs in India.
What is a 'per point' price, and what should it include?
A point is one working outlet at a desk. A fair per-point price includes the cable run, the keystone and faceplate, the patch panel port at the rack end, both patch cords, conduit or trunking, labour, and a certified test. Cheap quotes typically omit the patch cords, the panel port and the testing, then bill them later — which is why two quotes for the same floor can differ by 40%.
Cat6 or Cat6A — which do I need?
Cat6 is enough for the overwhelming majority of offices and will carry 1Gb everywhere and 10Gb over short runs. Cat6A is worth it for long runs, for links between floors, and for any building you expect to still be in beyond about seven years. Paying for Cat6A to every desk in a five-year lease is usually money that would do more good in the switches.
How long does it take?
An empty 25-seat floor is typically three to five working days for cabling, then a day or two for the rack, switching and Wi-Fi. The honest caveat: that assumes the floor is empty. Cabling around installed furniture and working staff can double the labour, which is why the time to do it is before anyone moves in.
Can you work around our existing network?
Yes, and it is usually the cheaper path. Existing cable is often perfectly sound and only the active hardware needs replacing. What I will tell you honestly is when the cabling genuinely is the problem — undocumented, untested, or run as one flat network with no segmentation — because new switches will not fix any of that.
Why does segmentation matter?
Because cameras, guest Wi-Fi, payment terminals and the accounts machine should not sit on one flat network. On a flat network anything compromised can reach everything else, and cheap IoT devices are the usual way in. Segmentation costs configuration time rather than hardware, which makes skipping it a false economy. It is covered further on the networking page.
Do you provide the hardware, or do we buy it?
Either, and I will tell you which is cheaper for you. Hardware is supplied at transparent cost — you see the model and the price before anything is ordered, with no margin hidden in it. Plenty of clients buy directly and have me specify and configure, which is entirely fine.
What is in the handover?
A port map against the seating plan, the IP and VLAN schema, certified test results per link, labelled outlets and panels, device inventory with serials, and every credential, in writing. If you move to another provider they can pick it up without archaeology — which is the actual test of whether documentation was done.
Do you cover server rooms and UPS?
Yes — rack, patch panels, cable management, ventilation and a UPS sized to hold the network through a cut. Larger server and storage work is on the servers and storage page.
Which parts of Bengaluru do you cover?
All of it — Whitefield, Koramangala, HSR, Electronic City, Indiranagar, Peenya and the rest. Elsewhere in India, network installations run as scheduled visits. Call or WhatsApp +91 82803 20550 and I will tell you honestly when I can get there.
