Why one person instead of an agency
Most businesses I meet are paying four vendors — a web agency, an AMC provider, a camera installer and a marketing freelancer — and spending a surprising amount of their own time being the integration layer between them. When something breaks at the seams, which is where things break, each vendor can honestly say it is not their part.
I cover the seams. That means the PoE budget is planned before the cameras are ordered, the VLANs exist before the access control is put on the network, and the website that markets the business is built by someone who understands the systems behind it. It also means there is exactly one number to call, and no ambiguity about whose problem it is.
The honest limit: I am one person. For same-hour hands-on response every day of the week, or for very large simultaneous rollouts, a local team is a better fit and I will tell you that rather than take the work.
How I work
Written scope before invoicing
An itemised quote listing deliverables, hardware, timeline, exclusions and milestones. Nothing starts on a verbal understanding.
You own everything
Domains, repositories, cloud accounts, licences, warranties and DVR credentials in your name, with documentation at handover.
Transparent hardware pricing
Brand, model, unit price and warranty on every line — so you can compare my quote against anyone else's item for item.
Plain language
Every recommendation framed in cost, risk and revenue, so a non-technical owner can decide without taking anything on faith.
Weekly visibility
Staging links for software, photos and test reports for on-site work. No silent months.
I will talk you out of things
Off-the-shelf beating custom, AI being the wrong answer, a local vendor being the better fit — said plainly, before you spend.
Proof, without the marketing gloss
Across conferences, education, healthcare, retail, manufacturing and NGOs.
Cabling and cameras through to cloud architecture and AI systems.
One accountable person instead of five vendors pointing at each other.
48 hours where a site survey is needed first.
Client references are available on request — I will connect you with someone who has bought the same thing you are considering, so you can ask them directly rather than read a quote I chose.
FAQ
About working with me
Are you an agency or one person?
One person, deliberately. You brief the same individual who does the work, which is why nothing gets lost in translation between a salesperson, a project manager and whoever eventually writes the code or pulls the cable.
What happens if you are unavailable?
For retainer clients, documentation and credentials are held by you from day one, so another engineer can pick up without me. For larger installations I bring in known subcontractors under my supervision and my accountability — you still deal with one person.
How can one person cover eleven services?
Because they overlap far more than they appear to. Cameras run on networks, networks need servers, servers moved to the cloud, everything gets a web front end and needs to be found on Google. Eleven years of doing all of it is what makes the combination possible — and I will tell you when something genuinely needs a specialist.
Do you take on very small jobs?
Yes. A single camera, a website fix or an hour of advice is fine. Some of the best long-term clients started with something small.
What will you refuse to do?
Work I cannot do well, and work you should not buy. If an off-the-shelf product beats a custom build, if AI is the wrong answer, or if a local vendor serves you better than I can, I will say so — it costs me one project and saves both of us a bad one.
Talk to the person who will do the work.
